The historical museum of the landing in Sicily-1943 is located in three flors and cover a surface of 3000 square meters. It reconstructs, through original period objects, documents and environments that recreate living conditions before and during the Allied landing, the historical event from which the liberation of Sicily and Italy from German occupation during the Second World War began. The 10th of July the american and the english landed in the oriental part of the Sicily respectively Gela and Augusta The Museum retraced the stages of the clashes between the opposing forces in the field. Among the reconstructed rooms stand out a village square, an air-raid shelter, a bunker and the tent in which the armistice was signed on 3 September 1943.
